Join us at the Chamber's monthly meetings,

3rd Tuesday at St. James, 8-9 a.m.,

to meet fellow business people and network.

Avilla Chamber of Commerce has a new webpage for Chamber news, minutes, upcoming events shared with the Kendallville Chamber of Commerce, and more.

Chamber hosts strategic planning meeting

About 20 people attended the meeting on May 28 and decided to organize a steering committee to proceed with the study.

Avilla Chamber of Commerce heard Scott Truax from Ball State University discuss how his graduate students can survey the town to produce a strategic study of where the town is, and a plan of where it might go in the future. With economic uncertainty in our future, it’s time to plan and prepare for where we want to go, as a town, and how we want to develop in order to grow and prosper in the years ahead.

The town of Avilla is planning to seek state grant money for a downtown study and revitalization grant, and this Chamber study is a starting point for those grant applications. The BSU study will be funded by local businesses. Contact the Chamber if your business would like to participate.

On Wed. May 28th Professor Scott Truex, from Ball State University, will be meeting with the community about doing a study for the entire town of Avilla.  Everyone is encouraged to come.
This meeting will be held in the upstairs meeting room in the Avilla Library at 6:30pm.

Your attendance would be greatly appreciated as we would really like to work on building the community so that there will be something for everyone in the place where you live.
The reason for this study of the town, this summer, is to develop a plan for our future growth.  An important part of this study is community buy-in, so if you are interested in Avilla's future growth please plan to attend and show your support.
A contact list was divided up among Chamber Members in order to succeed in contacting as many as possible in the community concerning this meeting.
