Attempted Child Abduction reported in Avilla on Saturday, June 28
Avilla police tell parents and children to be on the lookout for a man who tried to abduct a 9-year-old Avilla girl on Saturday, June 28, in the 200 block of W. Washington St.
According to police, a male subject attempted to give a ride to the girl, and the girl ran and fled home.
The man was driving a silver moped with black saddle bags. He is described as 30-40 years old, heavy/chunky build, brown hair, and wearing blue jeans, with a black shirt and goatee.
Contact Avilla police with any information that might lead to the arrest of this man, 897-3555.

POPULATION - The 2000 census population of Avilla was 2,049.
LOCATION - Avilla is located at the intersection of State Road 3 and State Road 8 in the eastern portion of Noble County, Indiana, only 10 miles from Interstate 69, and 15 miles north of Fort Wayne.
GOVERNMENT - Avilla is an incorporated town, governed by three trustees and a clerk-treasurer. The three trustees and clerk-treasurer are elected. A town manager facilitates the board's wishes. Read more
