Panthers win county golf tourney


Panthers win county golf crown


The Avilla School Golf team competed Thursday evening in the Noble County Open golf tournament against all the Noble County middle schools. The team was able to put together a team score of 225 for the evening placing them in first place for the win. Placing second was Rome City, and third went to West Noble. Kendallville and Central Noble finished in 4th and 5th place.


Individual awards went to the top 10 finishers for the evening. Taking first place was Michael Sharp with a score of 36. Avilla had 3 players in the top 10 scoring positions. Also scoring well were Katie Sharp and Andy Kretler.

“This event culminated a great season for the Panthers,” said coach Scott Kabrich. Their final record was 9 wins, 1 loss for regular match play. In tournament play they hold 1st, 2nd, and 4th place finishes for those events.

 

Avilla conference champs


Congratulations to the 4 X 400M relay team in their conference record breaking efforts at the conference meet. The team of Jordan Krock, Shana Christian, Angel Howell and Kerri Schrock set a new record with a winning time of 4:38.11.


Also placing first in the conference meet was Shana Christian in the 400 M Dash with a winning time of 1:06.97.


Other Lady Panthers results are as follows: 100M Dash 2nd place Shawna Disbrow13.77, 200M Dash 5th place 30.21, 800M Run Jayde Busch - 7th place 2:47 and Jordan Krock – 3:06 11th place, 1600 M run Sydney Rodenbeck 10th place – 6:48 and Sirahia Ostermeyer 11th place 7:03, 100 M Hurdles -7th place 19.67, 4x100 Relay Team 4th place, high jump 2nd place Shana and Angel 10th place, long jump 5th place Andrea Cassel and 10th place Kerri, Shot Put, Samantha Cordial 4th place and 6th place Tayla Skidgel, Discus 4th place Cordial.
Avilla placed 3rd as a team.

 

Boys place at meet


The Avilla boy's track team tied for 6th place with 28 points at the conference meet in Angola . Placing for the boys were:
Lucas Riecke- 5th long jump, 5th 4oo relay
Josh Roesner- 3rd hurdles, 5th 1600 relay, 6th 400
Tanner Bolen- 5th 400, 5th 400 relay, 5th 1600 realy
Austin Troyer- 5th 400 relay, 5th 1600 relay
Mitch Brauchla- 5th 1600 relay
Hayden Putnam- 4th hurdles, 5th 400 relay
Trevor Morr- 2nd shot put
Blake Rodenbeck- 6th discus
